Belgian Koi Show 2026 to Waregem; a show with potential
The Belgian Koi Show 2026 will be held at Expo Waregem. The organization has chosen a location that has everything to lift this show to a higher level. Who ever speaks with the president of the Belgian koi Society Dr. Dirk de Witte knows that this is not a show that just happens. Reputation, quality and continuity are being built by the volunteers.

Why Waregem is a smart move
I myself have been to this location a year and a half ago for a tattoo convention and that is precisely why this choice feels immediately logical. Expo Waregem is well-organized, spacious and logistically strong. That may sound practical, but for a Koi show it is essential. You want peace and quiet around the vessels, good running lines and an environment that does Koi justice.
In addition, what is just nice: across the street is a large shopping center. That makes it just a little more comfortable for visitors to make a complete day or weekend of it.
The bar is high after Merelbeke 2025
Looking back at the Belgian Koi Show 2025 in Merelbeke, one can immediately see why 2026 is already being looked at with anticipation. Names like Wim De Witte, Patrick Makkes and especially Pascal Vandercammen left their mark firmly on the results. The latter managed to profile himself widely with several titles, confirming the level currently being achieved.

Players such as De Koibar, Koibito, Kim’s Koi, Sakaikoi Wellen, Jerome Constant and Niwa Koi also showed that the field of participants is broad and strong. That is exactly what a show needs: not a one-person field, but a field that pushes each other upward.
A field of participants that inspires confidence
What makes the Belgian Koi Show interesting is that it is not just about the champion, but about the overall lineup. When multiple participants enter fish at a high level, it creates excitement, comparison and meaning. That’s where a show really comes alive.
All indications are that we can expect such a strong field again in 2026. The groundwork is in place and the show’s reputation helps.
Who do we see back and who is on
It would not be a surprise if we see again names that impressed last year. At the same time, the charm of a new edition is always in the question: who stands up? Who surprises?

One name that could be interesting to keep an eye on is Geert Schrijvers, should he decide to participate. This is not a confirmation, but it is precisely these possible shifts that make the run-up to a show interesting.
The poster and the story behind it
A show doesn’t just start with the construction of the barrels, but with the announcement. This year’s poster shows a focus on appearance and experience. And surely we as KoiQuestion can contribute to that with some pride.

In fact, the photo of the model on the show poster was provided by us. This fits perfectly with what we do: not just registering, but contributing to the visual identity of the hobby.
KoiQuestion present again
Once again this year we will be present as the official photographers of the Belgian Koi Show. That means we will once again be responsible for capturing the Koi, the atmosphere and the stories happening around the vessels.
As always, we do so not just to create images, but to capture a piece of contemporary historiography. That is and always will be the core of what we do.

A show that can grow
With the move to Waregem, there is an opportunity for continued growth. The location supports that, the reputation of the show supports that and the field of participants seems ready for that as well. We hope the visitor numbers will reflect that well.
All in all, the expectation is justified that we are going to see very strong occupancy in 2026.
In conclusion
The 2026 Belgian Koi Show already feels like an edition you want to live towards. Not because everything is already fixed, but because the basis is right. A strong organization, a well-chosen location and a field of participants that breathes quality.
In any case, we will be there again. With cameras, attention and an eye for detail. See you in Waregem.
