The All Japan Young Koi Show 2025 –<\/strong> also called the Wakagoi Show<\/abbr> – now in its 41st edition<\/strong>, is held annually in This show is known worldwide as the stage for young Koi<\/em> up to 63BU, where quality, genetic potential and show presence come together. In this 2025 edition, history was made – not only by the quality of the winning fish, but also by a special milestone for Narita Koi Farm<\/strong>. <\/section>\n

This Kohaku<\/abbr>, bred by Momotaro Koi Farm<\/abbr><\/strong>, was an absolute sight: powerfully built, torpedo shaped, with skin like porcelain and a pattern that ran across the body like a brush stroke. The beni<\/abbr><\/em> was deep and consistent, with a classic maruzome kiwa<\/abbr><\/em> that rounded it out elegantly. <\/p>\n

“A submarine of a Kohaku<\/abbr>. Skin like porcelain, beni<\/abbr> like velvet, body like a torpedo.”<\/h3>\n

The fish showed everything a show-Kohaku<\/abbr> should have: strength, balance, appearance and structure. So it is no surprise that this very fish was awarded the highest honor. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n

There was also much to admire outside the traditional Gosanke<\/abbr> varieties (Kohaku<\/abbr>, Sanke<\/abbr>, Showa<\/abbr>). This year’s Grand Champion<\/abbr> B went to a breathtaking Goshiki<\/abbr><\/strong>, bred by Kawakami Koi Farm<\/strong> and exhibited by Arthur Kai. This kuro Goshiki<\/abbr><\/em> showed an inky black underskin already rising a menacing cloud from the underside that almost made the fiery red pattern glow. The head of the fish was special: powerful, mysterious with hypnotic pattern. <\/p>\n

Kawakami has long been known as a specialist in Goshiki<\/abbr>, and this champion underscores their reputation. Narita’s guidance once again provided a perfectly presented fish, ready to outperform the competition. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Historic milestone for Narita Koi Farm<\/h4>\n

Not only did the quality of the fish stand out this year, but also the history written by Ryuki Narita<\/abbr><\/strong> himself. His words provide a powerful insight into the dedication and continuity of his team: <\/p>\n

It has been 20 years since we first won the Grand Champion<\/abbr> at All Japan Young Koi Show in 2005…. This time, we have achieved our 14th Grand Champion<\/abbr>. Furthermore, this year’s competition marks a truly remarkable milestone-our 10th consecutive victory.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
