The show in Belgium was a true success; outstanding in terms of quality of Koi. The Major Awards are the most important awards and we will introduce them all to you in this article. The photos were taken by Tiebo Jacobs<\/abbr> and edited by Marco Zegers who acted as a great back office. We often get the Koiquestion<\/abbr> what exactly these entail. In short, you can say that The Grand Champion<\/abbr> is the very best koi of the event. Often chosen from the largest class, measuring over 80 centimeters. This and also its runner-up, called the Supreme Champion<\/abbr> were immediately excluded from further participation. The rules may vary from show to show.<\/p>\n

Then there are prizes for the very best koi from multiple sizes and thus of all varieties, rising from Baby Champion<\/abbr> for the smallest sizes through Young Champion and Adult Champion to the Mature Champion for the largest sizes. The very largest Koi is given the title Jumbo Champion. Then a distinction is made between Grand, Supreme and Jumbo A and B. A indicates that the Koi is from the varieties Kohaku<\/abbr>, Sanke<\/abbr> or Showa<\/abbr>. B is overarching for all other varieties. In conclusion, you then have an Award for the most unique<\/abbr> Koi and the Koi that shows the most promise.
