A day full of splendor, passion, and connection<\/h2>\n

After years of dreaming, planning, and an unyielding passion for the koi hobby, the time has finally come: the Koi Show Noorderlicht will become a reality. This event, a wonderful initiative born from the long-held desire of northerners, promises to be not just another show, but a day dedicated to beauty, connection, and the celebration of our shared love of koi.<\/p>\n

Why the Koi Show Noorderlicht is so unique<\/h4>\n

On June 29, Bakkeveen will be the scene of this unique spectacle. It is the result of the determination of a group of avid hobbyists, with Peter Boetes and Klaasjan Torenbos at the helm, who refused to give up on the dream of having their own one-day Koi Show in the north of the Netherlands. Their perseverance and ability to gather a community of volunteers and professionals around this idea made the dream a reality.<\/p>\n

Preparations in full swing<\/h4>\n

Preparations for the Koi Show Noorderlicht are in full swing. With a permit pending, 40 barrels arranged thanks to the generosity of Wim Broekman of Takazumi – borrowed from the Euregio Koi Show – and the support of not only us at KoiQuestion<\/abbr> but also Koi2000<\/abbr> and KoiToday as media partners, the event is on strong feet. The logo and poster design symbolize the beginning of something special in the koi community.<\/p>\n

An open invitation to all<\/h3>\n

This show is not only an exhibition of beautiful koi and a competition for the most beautiful fish, but also a manifestation of the northern lights themselves – a natural phenomenon as breathtaking and memorable as the beautiful koi we admire. It reflects the essence of the North: less densely populated, but with residents who shun no distance to find connection in their passion.<\/p>\n

Volunteers: the backbone of success<\/h4>\n

Volunteers play a crucial role in the show’s success. From setting up the barrels and fencing to supporting on the day itself, the organization is calling for anyone who can lend a hand. Those who get involved are well taken care of with coffee and packed lunches, a token of appreciation for their contribution to this community project.
