Grand Champion B European Koi Show Oldenzaal once again for Mark’s Koi
The most beautiful fish not among the Kohaku, Sanke and Showa varieties is attributed to a Mukashi Ogon of stature. Thick in the ninety inches, it was not initially the jury’s first choice anyway. The big luck for the feed manufacturer was the sun. When it began to shine there was no escape; the Mukashi’s brilliance proved almost blinding, but not so much so that its beauty was no longer seen. Surely, then, that is the power of an outdoor show, explained Rudi van den Broeck, one of the judges.
Mark Breedveld himself thinks the Koi could creep up to 98-99 centimeters this year. The fish belongs to a hobbyist – Raymond Woerts from Deventer, but was sold under the strict conditions that the carp angler was allowed to play a show with it once; in fact, the preparations already took two years. Last year, she was deliberately not included and Breedveld decided to bet on an Asagi of stature, which allowed him to record the Grand B as well. Mark attributes the success to his feed. We spoke to him about this. The interview will appear soon on KoiQuestion.
