Grand Champion A at 3rd Koi and Bonsai Show KoiCave 2024
With a Matsue Kohaku measuring 88 centimeters, Fish & Pondland together with Ron’s Koi manages to bring in the best koi; GRAND CHAMPION A at 3rd KoiCave Koi & Bonsai Show at De Vossenberg Nursery. And let’s be perfectly honest for a moment; there’s just nothing to fault on this Koi. The Koi, christened Miss Yasuko, beat that other multiple champion Miss Magnum by Filip Poppe. The show in Italy was at the same time as this show, but I did miss something as an enthusiast indicates Marco Zegers, who was in charge of competition management at the Fox Mountain.
Stare
The body and pattern are both to die for. Although the first three patterns actually form a large one, the Beni is nowhere weak and the kiwi very strong. The pigmentation is deep, soft, still looks youthful. the shiroji is also just fine and you just can’t walk by this fish without gaping at it. The pectoral fins in the photo seem a bit small, but these are very nicely proportioned compared to the massive build of this fish. What a beauty. Frank, business manager at the Koizaak in Zevenbergen is of course very pleased with it as he lets you know on their Facebook page.

It is a joint project explains Frank from Fish and Pond Land to Theo de Vliegh during the award ceremony. Logically, then, you also share together. Rob de Vos of Japan Koi Service still has the footage of their first encounter with the koi in Japan!
